The Poem!

Have you heard of magnets
and all that they can do?

They push, they pull, they pick things up
And stick to fridges too!

Which objects can they move?
A sausage? Or a lion?

No, they only work on metals
Like nickel and like iron

And aluminum and gold?
Can magnets move them too?

No, they don’t like every metal
They only like a few

But how does this all work?
How can they do so much?

With a force called magnetism
That we can’t see or touch

What else can you tell me
That's interesting and true?

Planet Earth has North and South Poles
And magnets have them too!

Every time that North’s near South
They pull each other near

If North meets North?  Or South meets South?

They shout “GET OUT OF HERE!”

One last thing, please tell me
How strong these magnets are

Well, some just pick up paper clips
But some can hold a car!
