The Poem!

Everything that lives and dies,

From trees with leaves to birds with wings,

From human beings to cats and dogs,

They all can do these four great things:

Growth
Every type of creature grows,

And this is very plain to see.

Just look at how you’re growing up,

Or how a seed becomes a tree.

 
Movement

All creatures can move by themselves,

Like how we walk and jump and run,

And how birds flap their wings to fly,

And how plants turn to face the sun.

Reproduction
For life to carry on and on

Reproduction’s what you need!

Animals have little babies,

And new plants grow from tiny seeds.

Nutrition
Have you heard this word before?

“Eating food” is all it means.

Animals like plants and meat,

While sunlight’s best for plants of green.

Four processes all creatures do,

From little ants to trees so tall.

Processes that show they’re living,

Now let’s make sure we know them all!
