Growing from Egg to Birth

The Poem!

So here’s my little rhyme

all about a special time,

and the way that life began

for every woman, child and man.

It starts (you are advised)

when an egg is fertilised.

But big this egg is not!

(it’s even smaller than this dot - ∙)

This egg (deep inside mummy)

grows quickly in her tummy.

Then after 40 weeks

outside the baby sneaks! *

* - Please note that some awkward babies (only around 999 in every 1000) choose not to sneak out of their mothers.  Instead they do so very slowly and painfully. However, this doesn’t rhyme quite so well! J
